How to Use

IPL (intense pulsed light) sends gentle flashes of light to the hair root. With regular use, hair grows back slower, finer and sparser. Follow these steps for the best results.

Before you start

  • Do a patch test on a small area 24 hours before your first full session.
  • Skin should be clean, dry and free of creams, oils and deodorant.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning for a few days before and after use.

Each session

  1. Shave the area. Do not wax or pluck, because IPL needs the root in place.
  2. Choose a level. Start low and go up only when it feels comfortable.
  3. Flash. Place the window flat on the skin, flash, then move one window-width along.
  4. Care. Apply a gentle moisturiser afterwards. Mild redness usually settles within a few hours.

How often

Once a week for the first 4 to 8 weeks, then a touch-up session every 2 to 4 weeks, or when you notice regrowth.

How it works

Three simple steps

  1. Shave

Shave the area first so the light reaches the hair root, not the hair on top.

  2. Flash

Pick a comfortable level and flash, moving one window-width at a time.

  3. Repeat

Once a week for the first 4 to 8 weeks, then touch-ups when you need them.

Results build up over several weeks and vary from person to person.

Face and body

Where you can use it

  • Face

Upper lip, chin and jawline, below the cheekbones.

  • Underarms

Quick sessions with fast results for most people.

  • Arms

Glide along the arm one window-width at a time.

  • Bikini line

Use a lower level on this more sensitive area.

  • Legs

The biggest area: use the largest window you have.

  • Back and stomach

Ask someone to help with hard-to-reach spots.

Never use near the eyes, on lips or nipples, or over tattoos, dark moles or broken skin.

What to expect

Your smooth-skin journey

  1. Weeks 1-4

    Getting started

Use once a week. Treated hairs loosen and shed over the following days.

  2. Weeks 5-8

    Slower regrowth

Keep to once a week. Most people notice hair growing back finer and patchier.

  3. Week 9 onwards

    Smoother skin

Switch to touch-ups every 2 to 4 weeks, or whenever you see regrowth.

Results build up gradually and vary from person to person, depending on hair colour, skin tone and regular use.
